Dinner at LexEat!
I was looking forward to this ALL week! The day was finally here and we were heading to Lex’s supper club, LexEat! Woo hoo!
I didn’t know why we decided to drive there because the traffic around Islington on a Saturday night meant we were travelling at a snails pace for most of the journey. Along with the fact that we couldn’t read door signs meant we were the last ones to get there, oops.
Lex’s flat was really quirky. Split into two levels with an open plan kitchen, it had a funky retro character to it – I loved it!. . The menu was written on the table which made it fun trying to work out what we were having and in which order. The table setting looked great, punctuated with Lex’s uber cool individually designed vintage napkins.
The food, needless to say was delicious. My favourite was the starter – spinach pancakes with lime butter. The Boyfriend was shocked at the fact that I ate the entire butter knob that came with the pancakes but I didn’t care – I’d just spent 15 more minutes in the gym – it was worth it! The flat bread and roast lamb served on the night was also a crowd pleaser. (… Lex if you’re reading this, learn to take a compliment woman!)
Along with the food we met some really interesting people on the night.
In short, it was just a really enjoyable evening, great food and great company - definitely be back again!.
